Sole smiled. “Hi, Carlos, nice to see you. Empanadas as usual?”
Instead of answering, he just stood there and smiled at her. He was shaved clean and his hazel eyes had a little twinkle. His right eyebrow was a bit higher than the left, Sole noticed, which wrapped his face in curiosity. His smile caused a tiny wrinkle at the top of his nose. Sole looked in his eyes, awaiting his choices.
“I’d like a date.”
“We don’t carry dates, but we have blueberry scones today,” she sincerely offered and picked one up with the serving tool.
Carlos laughed. His deep voice was soothing. “I mean, I would like to go out with you.”
